It seems like just the other day we photographed Harry’s newborn session so it’s hard to believe that we just celebrated his 1st birthday! He is standing and ready to take off any day now! Like any good birthday, we ended the session with a little cake…smash. It was so great watching him grow throughout his first year! We can’t wait to have him back!

The 1st Birthday Cake Smash is always a fun session, but sometimes the most interesting part is watching how each child reacts to being plopped down in front of a sugar packed dessert and told to dig in. Some kids are a little confused. Generally, I think it can be assumed that most kids are thinking, “If I get this nice new outfit dirty, Mom is not going to be happy!” But then they see mom pushing their little hands into the cake and telling them to eat up! For Riley, she just dove right in! It’s always great to see little ones really enjoying their 1st birthday, just like Riley!

Here is a recent newborn session we had with baby Ben and his big brother Jacob. These two are absolutely adorable! Ben was sleeping peacefully but didn’t stay asleep for long. He was so curious about the studio and what his Jacob was up to! Jacob is definitely living up to the big brother role being a super cool dude! Can’t wait to see these two for Ben’s 6 month session!
